Dan Schreiber, co-host of the QI podcast 'No Such Thing As A Fish', presents an hour and 40-minute stand-up show of astonishing facts and hilarious tales from the world of the weird.
Dan Schreiber brings This Changes Everything to Norwich Theatre Stage Two on Saturday 14 November, starting at 8:00pm. If you've spent any time listening to the No Such Thing As A Fish podcast, you'll know him as one of its co-hosts — the show Tim Minchin described as "Hilarious. Sideways. Brilliant." — and this is his latest solo outing, built around the same kind of curiosity that fuels the podcast.
This Changes Everything is an evening of astonishing facts and hilarious tales drawn from Schreiber's recent investigations into the world of the weird. He describes it as straddling the space between sense and nonsensibility, and the examples he teases give a good idea of where that lands. He asks which billion-dollar industry was created by a dead doctor during a seance, which Hollywood star was said to have a magical foreskin, and how to get into the world's secretest secret society. It's the sort of thing you'd usually find yourself falling down a rabbit hole about at 2am on a Tuesday, but here it's all pulled together into one set.
Beyond the podcast, Schreiber is also the bestselling author of The Theory of Everything Else, a book Louis Theroux called "Utterly compelling and totally bizarre". That same instinct for the odd and the overlooked runs through this show, too. It's less of a lecture and more of a guided tour through the strange corners of the world he's been digging into lately.
