A free six-week course of playful movement and yoga for parents and children to strengthen relationships and explore expression.
Creative Connections: Movement! kicks off at Tend Collective on Friday 6 November, and it's a six-week course that runs through to 11 December. It's built for parents and children to do together, with the focus on strengthening relationships and exploring expression through movement and yoga. If you're looking for something to do with your kids on a Friday morning, this is it.
One thing to get clear from the start: this isn't a class where everyone has to follow the same movements or get their bodies into particular positions. There's no right or wrong way to move, no pressure to perform, and no expectation to be flexible or 'good at yoga'. It's meant to be gentle and playful, so you can just show up as you are.
Each session is split into three parts. There's whole-family playful movement, a supportive reflection space for parents while the children are in supported play, and shared parent-child movement experiences. It's a mix of moving together, having a bit of space to yourself, and then coming back together again.

The course is facilitated by a Play/Creative Arts Therapist and two qualified Yoga Therapists, and it's funded by the National Lottery Awards for All through Tend Collective's Playing For Change project. That funding is why it's free to attend, with only optional donations appreciated.
It runs every Friday from 6 November to 11 December, 10:00 to 11:30 am, with doors opening at 9:45 am. You'll find it at Tend Collective Community Interest Company, Carrow House, 301 King Street, Norwich NR1 2TG.
