Chris Packham shares stories from his lifetime of curiosity and passion for the natural world, with specimens from his own collection.
Chris Packham brings his live show, World of Wonder, to Norwich Theatre Royal on Sunday 15 November. He's been the voice of nature in the UK for nearly forty years, and this one is a bit of a retrospective on how he got there.
He describes the evening as an encyclopaedia of stories from a lifetime of curiosity. It starts in his childhood bedroom, which he says was bursting with feathers, skulls and jam-jars full of tadpoles, snakes and lizards, and then moves on to the wild adventures that shaped his love of nature. There's also a practical side to it: the things we can all do to make a difference in a time of crisis.
Beyond the stories, there are two things you won't get from watching him on TV. He'll be showing extraordinary specimens from his own collection up close, and he'll be sharing untold stories from behind the camera. If you've only ever known him as the presenter, this is the part that lets you see the collector and the naturalist underneath.

For context on the work he's talking about, you'll recognise him from The Really Wild Show, Springwatch, Inside Our Autistic Minds and Earth. The show is recommended for ages 12 and up. It starts at 7:30pm and runs for about an hour and fifty minutes, with an interval. Tickets start from £10.60, though those are limited, so it's worth checking the Norwich Theatre Royal site sooner rather than later.
