Final screening of the Norwich Film Festival, showing the seven award-winning short films from the Official Selection across seven categories.
Cinema City hosts the Award Winners Showcase on Sunday 15 November, the final shorts screening of the Norwich Film Festival. It brings together the seven award winners from the Official Selection and puts them on the big screen in one sitting, one for each of the festival's categories: British, International, Animation, Documentary, Student, East Anglian, and the newly introduced East Anglian Student Award, which recognises emerging student filmmaking talent from East Anglia. The winners are announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday 14 November, so this is the first time you'll see them all together.
To get an idea of the scale, the festival's programming team chose the 2026 nominees from 1,399 short film submissions, with 136 making the shortlist. The showcase is the culmination of that process, distilling the whole Official Selection down to the seven films that took home the top prizes. It's a BAFTA-qualifying and BIFA-recognised festival that runs for ten days in November, with 21 curated screenings in total, including short films, special feature screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and industry development events. The festival's Creative Futures programme runs at Norwich University of the Arts, and Stephen Fry is the festival's patron.
