The Wedding Present perform live at Boiler Shop, commemorating the 35th anniversary of their album 'Seamonsters'.
The Wedding Present are playing Boiler Shop on Friday 23 October, as part of a series of dates they're taking across Great Britain throughout 2026. The whole run is built around one record: Seamonsters, which they're commemorating on its 35th anniversary.
If you're not familiar with the title, Seamonsters was their pivotal long-player, and this tour is a direct nod to it. The Newcastle date is one of several they've scheduled across the country this year, so it's a good chance to catch them if you're in the city. The show starts at 7:00 pm, with The Wedding Present as the sole act on the bill.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head down. The gig is for ages 14 and over, and under-16s need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, with one adult tending to a maximum of two under-16s. Boiler Shop also runs a strict bag policy: one small bag per person, no larger than A4 size, with no large bags or backpacks allowed. There is a cloakroom available for a small fee per item if you've got something you can't carry in. For those who need it, there's an accessible viewing platform with seats and wheelchair spaces. The venue is at 20 South Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3PE.
