Comedy writer and satirist Rosie Holt returns with a sci-fi streaked satire on politics and aliens, presented by Impatient Productions.
Rosie Holt is back at Northern Stage on Saturday 17 October with The Illegal Aliens Have Landed!, a sci-fi streaked satire on politics presented by Impatient Productions. Holt is a comedy writer, actor and satirist, and she returns to the stage here as her MP alter-ego.
The show follows a government trying to carry on the Conservatives' work of stopping the boats while still appearing left-wing — a balancing act that gets thrown into chaos when UFOs arrive and start abducting and eating the British public. It's a political comedy that takes a sharp turn into the absurd, and it's already picking up some strong reviews: The Times named it one of its '10 Best Political Comedies', and The Observer called it a 'pinpoint portrayal of the personae manifesting our national psyche'.
The Newcastle date is part of a 2026 tour that runs from 16 October to 5 March, stopping at 26 venues across the country. It's recommended for ages 14 and over due to strong language, so keep that in mind if you're bringing anyone younger along.
