Ricky Gervais brings his stand-up show 'Legend' to Utilita Arena Newcastle, described as his most personal show yet.
Ricky Gervais brings his new stand-up show, Legend, to Utilita Arena Newcastle on Thursday 10 December 2026, with the performance starting at 7:30 PM. It's part of a UK tour running from September to December 2026, and the Newcastle date is for ages 16 and over.
Gervais describes Legend as his most personal show yet, and he's promised his usual mix of fun, nonsense and true stories. It follows four previous specials — Humanity, SuperNature, Armageddon and Mortality — all of which broke box office records and topped the Netflix charts after they were released. Armageddon and Mortality each won him a Golden Globe for Stand-Up Comedy on Television, in 2024 and 2026.
Beyond the stand-up, he's one of the most recognisable names in British comedy. He created and starred in The Office, Extras, Derek and the Netflix hit After Life. The Office is the most successful British comedy of all time, shown in more than 90 countries and remade 13 times. He's also hosted the Golden Globes five times — in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2020 — and in 2016 he won the BAFTA/LA Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy, with the industry citing him as one of the most influential British comedians since Charlie Chaplin.
