Three-hour evening cruise along the River Tyne aboard the Canny Lass with live music and a bar on board.
Live on the Tyne is back on the river this November, with a cruise departing from the Canny Lass on Saturday 7 November. It's a three-hour evening trip that follows the River Tyne, with live music playing throughout the night and a fully stocked bar on board. You can sit back with a drink or dance as the lights of Newcastle and Gateshead come up after dark.
The boat is the Canny Lass, run by Tyne Cruises and based at Newcastle City Marina on the Quayside. It's a good spot to start from, right in the heart of the Quayside, so you're already in the thick of things before you even set off. From there, the cruise takes you along the river, passing the landmarks of both sides of the Tyne as the evening settles in.
If you're looking for something to do on a Saturday night that isn't just the usual pub or restaurant, this is a decent shout. You've got the live music to keep you company for the full three hours, and the bar on board means you don't have to worry about bringing your own drinks. The whole thing is built around the view, with the lights of the city and the river as the backdrop for the night.

Tickets are £40 for a standard ticket, and the cruise departs at 7:00pm. If you can't make the 7th, there are other dates running too: the 14th and 21st of November, and then a Christmas one on Saturday 26 December, all starting at 7:00pm. It's a three-hour trip, so you're back on the Quayside by ten.
