Hang Massive present a live handpan performance with electronic soundscapes, live instrumentation and visuals.
Hang Massive play Boiler Shop on Monday 31 May, their first Newcastle date of 2027. The duo, Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat, have been working with the handpan since 2011, and this is a live handpan performance built around electronic soundscapes, live instrumentation and visuals. They describe the combination as both uplifting and deeply moving.
They're touring a new album and an entirely new live experience, which they're taking across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, India and beyond throughout 2027. It comes after their biggest tour to date, Beyond the Horizon, so this is a fresh start rather than a continuation of that run. If you're familiar with their earlier work, the album Luminous Emptiness came out in 2018, and they first went viral with the 2011 release and video 'Once Again', which has been watched over 60 million times online.
Cudd and Offbeat met on the shores of Goa, India, where they spent many winters taking in the creative atmosphere. They still split their time between their home studio in Goa and touring globally, and both are dedicated Dzogchen practitioners. That connection to India runs through their history as much as the music does.
