The smash-hit musical returns for its 10th anniversary tour, with an all-star cast including Joanne Clifton and Divina De Campo.
Everybody's Talking About Jamie is coming to the Theatre Royal from Monday 19 July to Saturday 24 July 2027. It's part of the show's 10th anniversary tour, and it's a bit of a homecoming for the production: it returns after a record-breaking three-year West End residency, two sold-out UK and Ireland tours, and an award-winning Amazon Studios film. This run in Newcastle is one of the stops on that anniversary circuit.
The story is set in Sheffield and follows sixteen-year-old Jamie New, who lives on a council estate and takes on prejudice and bullies with the support of his mum and his friends. The score was written by Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, and Tom MacRae, and critics have described it as funny, outrageous and touching. The show itself took home Best New Musical at the WhatsOnStage Awards. For this tour, they've added a brand-new song to the mix, so even if you've seen it before, there's something new to hear.
The cast for this run includes Joanne Clifton and Divina De Campo, with Ashcon Rahmani as Jamie New and Rebecca Trehearn as his mum. It's recommended for ages 12 and over, as it contains strong language and mild sexual references.
