The hit West End musical comedy Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey, performed at the Theatre Royal Newcastle.
Mean Girls comes to the Theatre Royal Newcastle from Monday 18 to Saturday 30 January 2027, playing on the Main Stage. It's the West End musical comedy written by Tina Fey—the name you'll know from 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Saturday Night Live—and it's coming straight from London to the North East.
On stage, Jennifer Ellison joins Emily Lane as Cady and Vivian Panka as Regina. The show won Best New Musical at the WhatsOnStage Awards, and the reviews from its West End run were pretty glowing: Metro called it 'the most fun you can have in the West End' and the Daily Mail described it as 'a terrific tale filled with kick-ass characters'.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you book. It's recommended for ages 10 and up, and it does contain mature content and strobe lighting. If you're looking for an accessible performance, there's an audio described one on Wednesday 27 January, and a BSL interpreted and captioned performance on Saturday 23 January.
