Emma Doran: Emmaculate

Emma Doran brings her stand-up show Emmaculate to Northern Stage on Saturday 6 February 2027. It's a long one — an hour and fifty minutes including the interval — and it runs in Stage 1, over at Barras Bridge in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Emmaculate draws on the trials and tribulations of Doran's blended family, so it's the kind of set that finds its comedy in the domestic and the familiar rather than the abstract. If you've come across her work before, you'll know that's where she tends to sit: the messy, relatable side of family life. It's a good bit of ground to cover over nearly two hours, and the interval gives you a chance to stretch your legs halfway through.

For those who don't know her, Doran is an Irish stand-up, best-selling author, podcast host and viral online star. She's been seen and heard on RTÉ's No Worries If Not!, The Tommy Tiernan Show, The Late Late Show, Bridget and Eamon and Ireland's Fittest Family, and she hosted LOL: Last One Laughing on Prime Video with Graham Norton. Her podcast credits include You're Grounded with her daughter Ella, And Another Thing! with Muireann O'Connell and the four-part series Mischief Makers, and she co-hosts Keep It Tight with Deirdre O'Kane. She also wrote the best-selling book Mad, Isn't It?, published in 2024.

Tickets start from £21.50, and the show is recommended for ages 14 and over as it contains strong language.
