Dirty Dancing returns to Newcastle as part of a UK and Irish tour, bringing the classic story of Baby and Johnny to the stage.
Dirty Dancing is coming to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle, with performances running from Tuesday 9 February to Saturday 13 February. It's part of a wider UK and Irish tour, so it's one of several stops the production is making across the country during the 26/27 season.
If you know the story, you know the basics: Baby and Johnny, the dance lessons, the summer resort, and the lift. The stage version brings that same classic story to the theatre, with the dancing taking centre stage. It's the same plot you'll remember from the film, just worked out for a live audience rather than a cinema screen.

Because it's a touring production, the Newcastle run is a short one—five days in total—so if you're planning to go, you'll need to pick a date within that window. The Theatre Royal is right in the city centre, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from across town or in from further out. With the run only lasting from the 9th to the 13th, there aren't many dates to choose from, so it's worth deciding early if you're going to book.
