Final ever UK tour from industrial music pioneers Cabaret Voltaire, with Gazelle Twin, at Boiler Shop.
Cabaret Voltaire play Boiler Shop on Saturday 17 October, the Newcastle date of their final ever UK tour. It's a big one to have on the calendar: the Sheffield outfit are pioneers of the industrial scene, and this is the last time they'll be touring the UK. If you've never come across them, they're known for fusing surrealist experimentation with a DIY punk ethos, and they've been working that ground for decades.
They aren't coming alone. Support comes from Gazelle Twin, another Sheffield group whose own sound sits in industrial and punk-influenced territory, so the two acts share a fair bit of common ground. Between them, it's a Sheffield double bill on a Newcastle stage.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head down. The show is for ages 14 and over, and under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over — one adult can take a maximum of two under-16s. If you're thinking of bringing a younger crowd, that's the rule to work around.
