Intimate live show by Lambchop, with Kurt Wagner and Andrew Broder, as part of 'Innovators' and 'Christmas at The Glasshouse'.
Lambchop are back in the UK and Europe with a new run of intimate shows, and they're playing Sage Two at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in Newcastle on Thursday 26 November. It's a stripped-back setup: Kurt Wagner is joined by Minneapolis-based musician and producer Andrew Broder, and the two of them have built a live approach they describe as loose, curious and alive, with songs that stretch, shift and transform from night to night.
In this smaller setting, they open the songs out, letting space, electronics and improvisation reshape both familiar and new material, while Wagner's voice and songwriting stay at the centre. It's a different way of hearing them than a full band on a big stage — more about the room and the moment than a setlist played the same way every time. The tour follows a run of shows that included dates at London's Barbican and Primavera Sound, so this is one of the stops on their return to these shores.

The Newcastle date is part of two series at the venue, 'Innovators' and 'Christmas at The Glasshouse', so it sits within the wider winter programme. It starts at 8:00pm, and tickets are £35.80. One practical thing to keep in mind: under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
