A drop-in book club for fans of young adult fiction where readers discuss titles and engage in creative projects like fan fiction and cosplay.
The Young Adult Book Club runs on the first Thursday of every month at Newcastle City Library, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. It's a drop-in session, so there's no need to book ahead—you just turn up when you fancy it. The club is open to teens and adults of all ages, so it's as much for the older readers who still love YA as it is for the younger ones.
At its heart, it's a space for fans of young adult fiction to read, discuss and get creative around their favourite titles. The sessions introduce some of the biggest books that have defined the genre, and they don't stop at talking about them. The whole point is to take those stories and build on them with your own projects. That might mean writing fan fiction, drawing character art, 3D printing models, or even working on cosplay—whatever way you like to engage with the books you're reading.
