Free drop-in session of stories, rhymes, songs and music in Spanish for children aged 0 to 5, held every second Tuesday during school terms.
Spanish Rock n Rhyme Storytime runs every second Tuesday during school terms at Newcastle City Library, with sessions from 10:00 to 10:45 am. It's a 45-minute drop-in for children aged 0 to 5, and it's free.
The whole thing is in Spanish. It's aimed at Spanish-speaking families, but it's just as much for anyone who wants to get a feel for the language. The session fills the room with stories, rhymes, songs and music, all in Spanish, and it's built for the 0 to 5 age group, so it's as much for the toddlers as it is for the babies.
Because it's a drop-in, there's no need to book ahead. You just turn up with your little ones and join in. It runs during school terms, so it's a good one to keep on the radar for those mid-morning gaps when the kids are still at home.
