The final session of the Wine Club Night series, featuring a tasting of noble grape varieties and a paired cheese plate.
Wine Night at The Press Book House returns to The Press Book House on Thursday 17 September, and this one is the big one: Chapter 6: Noble Grapes – The Grand Finale. It's the sixth and final session of the Wine Club Night series, so if you've been following along since the first chapter, this is where the story wraps up.
The focus for the night is on noble grapes, those classic varieties that form the backbone of the world's most famous wines. You'll be tasting through them and pairing them with a tasting platter, with each glass serving as a new chapter in the evening. It's a tasting and a meal in one, so you can come hungry.
For a bit of context, these Wine Nights are monthly in-home wine tasting experiences held at Newcastle's only bookstore cafe. When the night rolls around, the venue closes its doors to the public and the space becomes all about wine. Kat leads the sessions, taking guests on a personalised journey of tasting, pairing the wines with matched cheeses and talking through the unique notes in each sip. The nights are themed around different wine regions and styles, usually structured as a series of chapters, with each event acting as a new chapter and each glass a new story.
