The Press Wine Club: Oktoberfest

The Press Wine Club is bringing Oktoberfest to The Press Book House on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October, with both nights starting at 6:00 PM. It's a German wine tasting run by Kat from Wine Fairy Events, and the whole thing is built around the wines and beers of Germany, paired with German-inspired food.

Kat is originally from Germany, and she's the one leading the evening. The night works as a tasting of German wine varieties and styles, and as you go through the pours, she tells the stories behind each one. It's not just about the wine, though — the German-inspired food is served alongside, so you've got something to eat while you're tasting your way through the list. If you're into the culture of it, traditional dress is very welcome: lederhosen and dirndls are encouraged, though they're certainly not required if you'd rather just turn up in your usual gear.

With two nights to choose from, you can pick whichever suits you best. Tickets are A$70, and both sessions kick off at 6:00 PM at The Press Book House, 462 Hunter St, Newcastle.
