A guided tasting of nine premium Scarborough wines paired with a seasonal menu by Executive Chef Steve Scott.
The Del Hotel is hosting The Del x Scarborough Wine Lunch on Sunday 16 August, a long afternoon in Cooks Hill built around two things that stand on their own while working together: a guided tasting of nine premium Scarborough wines and a seasonal menu by Executive Chef Steve Scott.
It's not just a meal with a few glasses on the table. The tasting is the main event, with nine different Scarborough wines poured throughout the session. You'll hear the stories behind every bottle as you go, so you're not just drinking them—you're getting the background on where they come from and what makes them what they are. Running alongside that is Steve Scott's seasonal menu, with the dishes designed to sit with the wines rather than just fill the gaps between pours.
Between the two, the afternoon is set up so you get the full story on both sides of the table: the history behind the wines and the inspiration behind the food. It's the kind of thing that works as well if you're there for the wine as it does if you're there for the cooking, and it's aimed at anyone who appreciates good food, good wine and good conversation.
