A drop-in afternoon of open-ended craft, creativity and connection designed for children and adults to collaborate during school holidays.
Newcastle City Library is running an Intergenerational Crafternoon on Wednesday 30 September, part of their school holiday craft programme. It's an open-ended craft session held in the Lovett Gallery, and the whole point is to get people of different ages making things together.
They describe it as an intergenerational programme, and that's the bit that sets it apart from a standard kids' activity. It's designed for children of all ages, but also for those who are young at heart, with the session built around active collaboration between parents, carers and children. Rather than a structured class with a set project to finish, it's open-ended craft, so you can just settle in and create whatever comes to you.
It's a drop-in session, which makes it easy to fit around the rest of your school holiday plans. There's no booking required, so you can just turn up when it suits you. It's one of several craft activities the library is putting on across the holidays, so if you're already heading in for other things, this is a simple one to add to the list.
