Three-hour boat party aboard MV Calmer with live DJs spinning old and new school R&B across Newcastle Harbour at sunset.
R&B Saturdays returns to the Queens Wharf Ferry Terminal on Saturday 10 October for its Spring Edition, a three-hour boat party aboard the MV Calmer. The boat departs from Wharf Road in Newcastle, cruising Newcastle Harbour at sunset, so you'll be out on the water while the light goes down over the city.
Live DJs will be spinning old school and new school R&B throughout the trip, pulling from the biggest anthems of the 90s, 2000s and today. It's a mix that works across the generations, so you'll hear the classics alongside the newer stuff. The party is for over-18s only, and you'll need a valid photo ID to get on board. The dress code is smart casual, though there's a specific rule about footwear: no tall or pointy heels. On a boat, that's a practical one rather than a fashion choice.
Two fully licensed bars will be open on board serving cocktails, beer, wine and spirits, and fresh food is available to buy, so you can eat and drink without leaving the deck. There's no BYO food or beverages allowed. A few things to keep in mind before you book: tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. The organisers also note that the vessel isn't a fully accessible venue, given its multi-level layout, steep stairs and marine gangway access.
