Pours In The Port

Pours In The Port kicks off in The Throsby District on Saturday 5 September, and it's a self-guided tasting trail that runs all the way through to 6 February 2027. The whole thing is spread across a handful of local venues in Carrington, all within walking distance of one another, so you can work your way through the district at your own pace rather than sticking to a set timetable. You check in at Earp Distilling Co., 41 Darling Street, and from there you're free to wander.

The trail brings together beer, wine and spirits producers from Newcastle and the surrounding Hunter region, so it's a fair cross-section of what's being made around here. Each stop has its own tastings, and you'll find live music, food options and event-only specials at the venues along the way. Because it's self-guided, you can spend as much time as you like at one spot before moving on to the next, rather than rushing to keep up with a group.

It's open to all ages and ability levels, though the tastings themselves are strictly for over-18s. That means you can bring the whole family along for the day and still get your fill of the drinks. Tickets range from A$80 to A$99, and since the trail stays open well into the new year, you've got plenty of time to fit it in.
