A social singles cruise on Newcastle Harbour with music, dancing, games and harbour views, strictly for over-18s.
All Event Cruises are bringing the Newcastle Singles Cruise back to the harbour on Friday 18 September, after a first run that they're calling Newcastle's biggest singles cruise. The whole thing is set up as an alternative to the endless swiping on dating apps, bringing local singles together in a relaxed, social atmosphere on the water rather than behind a screen. It's a cocktail-nightclub style evening with no table service, so you'll be on your feet and moving around for most of it.
On the music side, DJs will be playing crowd favourites throughout the night, and there are dedicated singles dance floors for the 25+ and 45+ age groups, so you can stick with people in your own bracket. Between the sets, there are icebreaker activities and interactive games to help get conversations started, and you'll get canapés and a drink on arrival to hold you over. The boat itself is the MV Calmer, and the night is strictly for over-18s, so you'll need a valid photo ID to board.
There are a couple of practical things to keep in mind before you head down. The MV Calmer has steep stairs, so tall or pointy heels aren't allowed on board, and unreserved seating is limited, so it's a night best suited to those happy to stay on their feet. For privacy, there's no photography allowed on board, which keeps the focus on the people in the room rather than the phones. The cruise departs from the Queens Wharf Ferry Terminal on Wharf Road in Newcastle.

Check-in opens from 7:00pm, the boat departs at 7:30pm, and it returns by 9:30pm. Tickets are A$39.97 for the early bird special and A$51.99 otherwise.
