A showcase of local and guest comedy talent at the Newcastle Comedy Club, held on Friday and Saturday nights.
Newcastle Comedy Club is running its showcase on Friday and Saturday nights, starting Friday 24 July 2026 and continuing through to 30 April 2027. It's held at the Newcastle Comedy Club, 139 Maitland Road in Islington, in a New York-style room in the heart of the city.
The format is pretty straightforward: the showcase spotlights local talent from around the region, with special guest performers coming in from Sydney, Melbourne and beyond. It's a good way to catch the local scene alongside names from further afield on the same bill. The venue has a history of attracting major names in Australian comedy, including Wil Anderson and Tom Gleeson, and it positions itself as the go-to destination for the hottest comedy shows in town.

There's a bar and a restaurant on site, so you can grab a drink or a meal before the show. The room is non-smoking, and the club welcomes people with access needs. Tickets are A$39.00 to A$42.00, and with the showcase running every Friday and Saturday night from July through to April, there are plenty of dates to choose from.
