Rufus Rice: Rice Age

Rufus Rice brings his show Rice Age to the Newcastle Comedy Club on Sunday 8 November. It's a stand-up night that mixes comedy and music, with Rice as the sole act on the bill.

The show is built around Rice's own life, and he frames it as a rampage through his years, trading in his greatest jokes, biggest hits and sauciest stories. It's a raucous evening, and the music sits alongside the stand-up rather than as a separate act. If you've come across him on TikTok, that's where he's built a good deal of his following; he's billed there as 'TikTok's favourite lovable rogue', and that same persona carries through to the stage.

Because the set draws from his back catalogue, you'll hear the jokes and songs he's most known for, rather than a night of new material. It's a retrospective of his work to date, with the music and the comedy woven together throughout the evening. The whole thing is billed as a rambunctious affair, so it's more of a loud, high-energy night than a quiet one.

Tickets are A$45 across the board, and the Newcastle Comedy Club is at 139 Maitland Road in Islington, 2296. Rufus Rice is the only name on the bill for the night, and the show runs on Sunday 8 November.
