A stand-up comedy showcase featuring local talent and special guest performers at the Newcastle Comedy Club.
The Newcastle Comedy Club is running its showcase on Friday and Saturday nights, starting 4 September and continuing through to 26 February 2027. It's held at the Newcastle Comedy Club, 139 Maitland Road in Islington, in a New York-style room in the heart of the city.
The format is a mix of local and visiting talent: the showcase spotlights comics from the region alongside special guest performers coming in from Sydney, Melbourne and beyond. It's a good way to see who's working in the area and who's just passing through for the weekend.
The venue has a history of bringing in big names in Australian comedy, with Wil Anderson and Tom Gleeson among them, and it positions itself as the go-to destination for the hottest comedy shows in town. There's a bar and a restaurant on site, the room is non-smoking, and the club welcomes people with access needs.
