A social life drawing session run by The Tipsy Sketching Club, combining sketching with drinks and food in a relaxed pub setting.
The Tipsy Sketching Club is hosting a life drawing session at the Lambton Park Hotel on Thursday 10 September, and it's just the kind of low-pressure night that works if you've never picked up a pencil before. The hotel is at 19A Morehead Street in Lambton, and the session runs for about two hours.
The club describes itself as a place to combine sipping, snacking and sketching with fun and frivolity, and they set up in one of Lambton's favourite local pubs, so the whole thing is more about the social side than getting a masterpiece on paper. It's aimed at everyone from people who've always been curious about life drawing to those who've been sketching for years, or anyone just after a fun night out with friends. All mediums and artistic abilities are welcome, so there's no need to feel like you're out of your depth if you're a complete beginner.
The session works with timed poses that range from two to 30 minutes, with breaks for drinks and food along the way. The shorter poses keep things moving, while the longer ones give you a bit more time to settle in and really look at what you're drawing. Drawing materials can be supplied on the night, though you're welcome to bring your own if you have a particular set of pencils or a sketchbook you prefer.
