Hola Margarita!

Hola Margarita! lands in Newcastle on Saturday 5 September, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It's a self-guided urban cocktail trail that takes you through five of the city's bars, with the whole thing built around the margarita in all its forms — from the classic recipe to some bolder, more creative twists on the tequila cocktail.

The five venues are The Great Northern Hotel (83-89 Scott Street), Bartholomew's, Jana Restaurant & Bar, Scottie's, and The Falcon. The day is designed to be played at your own pace: you start with a bite at one of the venues using a complimentary A$10 food voucher, then work your way around the trail with margarita vouchers in hand. You decide which bar to hit first and how long to spend at each one, so you can stretch it across the whole afternoon or knock it out in a few hours.

Newcastle's edition is part of the wider Urban Cocktail Trail, which runs these walks in cities across the country. If you're into margaritas, it's a good way to see a few of the city's bars in one go, and you get to try a range of versions of the same drink rather than just the one you usually order.

Tickets start from A$65 plus a booking fee via urbancocktailtrail.com, and they're limited, so it's worth getting yours sorted early if you're keen. The trail runs from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday 5 September.
