Point-to-point running event from Bar Beach to Carrington with 12km, 6km and 2K-4-FUN distances, part of the City of Newcastle NewRun Festival.
Hill to Harbour returns to the Newcastle foreshore on Sunday 4 April 2027, with three different distances to choose from. It's one of the region's favourite events, and it's open to runners, walkers and wheelchair participants of all ages and abilities, so it's as much about getting out there as it is about the clock. There's also the chance to raise funds for a cause while you're at it.
The main event is the 12km, which starts at Bar Beach and takes you along some of Newcastle's best coastline, beaches and harbour views. It's known for the atmosphere at the finish line, and it's the one that gives the whole day its name. If that's a bit much, there are shorter options: the Halfa Hill to Harbour 6km and the 2K-4-FUN. The 6km starts opposite The Station in Newcastle, and the 2K-4-FUN kicks off at Pat Jordan Oval. No matter which distance you pick, everyone finishes at Pat Jordan Oval in Carrington.
The whole thing is part of the City of Newcastle NewRun Festival and is staged by H Events. Everyone who crosses the line gets a finisher medal, and prizes go only to the overall male and female winners. One thing to keep in mind: dogs aren't permitted on the course.
