A networking lunch featuring Dr Kat Page in conversation with Everymind Director Dr Jaelea Skehan OAM, part of the Trevor Waring Expert in Residence series.
Dr Kat Page is coming to the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club in Wickham on Tuesday 29 September, as part of Everymind's Trevor Waring Expert in Residence series. It's a ticketed in-person networking lunch, so you'll be eating while you listen.
Page is an organisational psychologist and author, and she's talking about her new book, Good Work: Transforming Your Work from the Inside Out. The core of it challenges the common idea that work is inherently harmful. Drawing on research from organisational psychology, public health and leadership, she argues that the answer isn't just helping people cope better with a tough environment, but creating the conditions where people can actually thrive. It's the kind of conversation that hits close to home if you've ever felt like your job was something to survive rather than something that worked for you.
On the day, Page sits down in conversation with Everymind Director Dr Jaelea Skehan OAM, with an audience Q&A to follow, so there's a chance to ask your own questions. The session is part of the Trevor Waring Expert in Residence series, which Everymind launched in 2017 as part of its 25th anniversary to honour Professor Trevor Waring, the Institute's founding Director. The series brings in experts to talk through these kinds of ideas in a public setting, and Page's focus on the relationship between work and wellbeing fits right into that.
