A rolling lineup of 5-6 stand-up comedians performing live at Newcastle Comedy Club.
Friday Night Comedy is back at the Newcastle Comedy Club on Friday 24 July, part of the club's regular run of Friday night shows. It's a rolling lineup of five or six stand-up comedians, so the bill changes from week to week rather than sticking to one set of names. If you've been before, you'll know the format: a handful of comics taking turns on stage throughout the night, each with their own set.
The Newcastle Comedy Club is the city's first dedicated comedy venue, and it's located at 139 Maitland Rd in Islington. It's not just about the Friday nights, either. The club runs Saturday night showcases, Friday comedy nights, and open mic events, and it also offers improv courses and venue hire. The Friday night show is one of those regulars that keeps the place going throughout the week, with a fresh mix of acts coming through each time.

Because it's a rolling lineup, the comedians you'll see on the 24th will be different from the ones who played the week before. That's the point of the format โ it's less about a single headliner and more about a full night of different voices. If you're after a night of stand-up in Newcastle, this is one of the spots that does it on a weekly basis. You can find more details and book your tickets at newcastlecomedyclub.com.au.
