Drag Bingo Afloat

Timberlina hosts Drag Bingo Afloat on the MV Calmer Sunshine on Saturday 12 September, a daytime harbour cruise that takes bingo out of the community hall and onto the water. It's presented by All Event Cruises, and if you miss this one, there's another date on 22 November.

This isn't your usual bingo session. Between the rounds, there are disco hits, drag performances, crowd games, and dancefloor anthems, with high-glamour costumes on display throughout. It's pitched as a high-energy afternoon, and the bingo itself is interactive, with prizes up for grabs. The whole thing is hosted by Timberlina, so expect the drag to be as much a part of the day as the numbers being called.

The MV Calmer Sunshine departs from Queens Wharf Ferry Terminal on Wharf Road in Newcastle. It's a multi-level boat with indoor and outdoor decks, so you've got 360-degree views of the harbour from wherever you end up. There's a bar, a restaurant, and public toilets on board, and disabled access is available if you contact the operator in advance.

It's an 18+ cruise, so you'll need to bring authorised photo ID. The dress code is smart casual, and while small chunky heels are fine, tall or pointy heels aren't permitted on board. The cruise runs from 11:30am to 2:30pm, with check-in starting from 11:00am, and tickets range from A$35 to A$54.
