Interactive family show with giant dinosaur puppets, presented by Andrew Kay & Associates.
Dinosaur World Live is coming to the Civic Theatre in Newcastle on Tuesday 19 January, presented by Andrew Kay & Associates. It's an interactive show for the whole family, and it's built around some of the biggest dinosaur puppets ever made. The production is an Olivier Award-winner, so it's not just a local turn; it's a show that's travelled and picked up a major award along the way.
The puppets are the main event here. You'll see a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Triceratops, a Giraffatitan, a Microraptor and a Segnosaurus, and they're not just standing there as set pieces — they're part of the action. The show is designed to be interactive, so it's as much about the audience as it is about what's happening on stage. If you're taking kids, that's usually the part they enjoy most: the feeling that they're part of the story rather than just watching it from a seat.
There's also a post-show meet and greet, which is a good chance to get a bit closer to the puppets once the curtain's down. Critics have described the show as full of showmanship, razzmatazz and spectacular puppets, so it's a fair bet you'll get a bit of a spectacle. It's a family show, so it's built for all ages to sit through together.
