Collector Con Newcastle

Collector Con is coming to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Sunday 23 August, bringing its toy, hobby and pop culture fair to Broadmeadow. It's an annual show run by collectors for collectors, and it's part of a circuit that hits several Australian cities, including Penrith and Campbelltown. The Newcastle edition spreads across three halls, so there's plenty of room to wander.

The main draw is the vendor area: more than 180 tables packed with toys, hobby items and pop culture collectables. It's the kind of place where you can spend a few hours just digging through stalls. Running alongside it are two sister events: Dolltopia, a fair for vintage and modern dolls, plush, bears and toys, and TCXPO, a trading card expo that launched in 2025. Between the three, you've got a lot of ground to cover.

There's more on than just the shopping. Special guest Neil Fanning, the voice of Scooby-Doo in the international blockbuster films Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, will be there throughout the day signing autographs and posing with fans. The programme also includes a cosplay competition, a pop culture trivia test at 10.30am in Hall 1, and tabletop role-playing sessions for Dungeons & Dragons, Call of Cthulhu and Daggerheart, alongside Magic the Gathering. The show often draws fan groups like Star Walking Inc and Premier State Ghostbusters, and in some cities it's gone as far as hosting All-Star Wrestling matches.

It runs from 9.30am to 3.00pm, with the venue open from 8.30am. Early Bird entry starts at 8.30am and is limited to online bookings; general admission opens at 9.30am and again from 11.30am.
