Concert by the bedroom noise-pop project Weatherday, with special guests Hey, ily! and Anita Velveeta.
Weatherday plays the 7th St Entry on Wednesday, November 4, with Hey, ily! and Anita Velveeta opening. Weatherday is the bedroom noise-pop project of Sputnik, a mononymous Swedish songwriter who has also found success with the side project Lola's Pocket PC. He's described his album as being about hornets.
It was the cult-acclaimed Come in that earned him a large and dedicated following, with its raucous musical universe and serpentine sparklepunk stylings. The record saw its first vinyl issue via Topshelf Records in 2021.
Support comes from Hey, ily! (pronounced 'Hey, I Love You'), a band that formed when competitive Smash Bros. players decided to make music, drawing on Nintendocore, emo, powerpop and shoegaze. Joining them is Anita Velveeta, a Minneapolis DJ and producer who also performs as mother3k and is known for screaming into a mic.
