35mm screening of Ti West's 'The House of the Devil' at the Trylon, within the 'Evil Incantations' witchcraft and demonology series.
The Trylon Cinema is running The House of the Devil on 35mm this weekend, starting Friday, October 16. It's part of Evil Incantations, a series the cinema has put together around witchcraft, hexes, and demonology, with films coming from seven different countries. Ti West's 2009 slow-burn horror is one of the titles in that mix, and seeing it on 35mm is a different experience than catching it on a screen at home.
Evil Incantations is also part of the broader Trylon and the Heights program, so it's not just a one-off. The series also keeps up the venue's annual tradition of screening the cult classic Hausu, which they show every Halloween—whether it's your first time seeing it or your twenty-first. If you're into the occult side of cinema, The House of the Devil fits right in with that.

There are several screenings to choose from over the weekend. It runs Friday, October 16, at 9 PM; Saturday, October 17, at 5 PM and 7 PM; and Sunday, October 18, at 3 PM. If you're coming on Saturday, you've got two different times to work with, and Sunday's matinee is a good option if you'd rather be out of the theater before dark. All of them are at The Trylon Cinema in Minneapolis.
