Free, all-ages concert series with live local music, activities and family fun on Halloween, featuring The Cactus Blossoms, LAAMAR and School of Rock.
The Cactus Blossoms and LAAMAR headline The Cedar Cultural Center on Saturday, October 31, as part of the Family Gathering Concert Series. The show is presented by The Cedar and MNIVA, and it's free and all-ages, so it's one of those Halloween plans you can actually bring the whole family to without worrying about a cover charge or a late night. The Cactus Blossoms are playing as a duo, and they're joined by LAAMAR and School of Rock.
It's not just a concert, though. The music is paired with family activities running alongside the performances: balloon animals, coloring, temporary tattoos, and snacks. Costumes are encouraged, and since it's a daytime event, it's a soft entry point for audiences of all ages—you can roll in with kids in tow and be out well before the sun goes down. If you've got little ones who can't sit through a full set, the activities give them something to do while the music keeps going in the background.

Doors open at 10 AM, and the show starts at 11 AM, so you've got plenty of time to get settled before the first act takes the stage. The whole thing runs until 2 PM, which means you'll be done and home for a late lunch or a nap long before the usual Halloween chaos kicks in. It's a free, all-ages afternoon at The Cedar, 416 Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis, on Saturday, October 31.
