Spirited Away 25th Anniversary - Studio Ghibli Fest 2026

St Michael Cinema 15 is bringing Spirited Away back to the big screen as part of the Studio Ghibli Fest 2026, and this particular run marks the film's 25th anniversary. The first screening is Friday, October 16, at 7 PM, with additional showtimes running through October 17, 18, and 19. If you've only ever seen it on a small screen, this is a good chance to catch it in a theater.

For those who need a refresher, Spirited Away follows a young girl named Chihiro who becomes trapped in a strange new world of spirits. When her parents undergo a mysterious transformation, she has to summon the courage she never knew she had to free her family. It's a Studio Ghibli production, and it runs 125 minutes. The film is rated PG, so it works for families as much as for anyone who just loves the movie.

Because it's part of the Studio Ghibli Fest 2026, this isn't a one-off. The 7 PM show on Friday is just the start, and the additional screenings on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday give you a few different nights to choose from if Friday doesn't fit your schedule. It's a 25th-anniversary celebration, so it's as much about the milestone as it is about the movie itself.

All the screenings are at St Michael Cinema 15 in Minneapolis. The first one kicks off at 7 PM on Friday, October 16, and the rest follow through the 19th.
