Stand-up show 'Big Dad Energy' by Emmy-winning comedian and 'The Daily Show' correspondent Michael Kosta.
Michael Kosta brings his stand-up show Big Dad Energy to The Parkway Theater on Friday, April 23, 2027. If you recognize the name but can't quite place the face, you've probably seen him on The Daily Show, where he's a host and senior correspondent. He's an Emmy Award-winning comic, and this is a full hour of his stand-up.
Kosta's path to the stage is a bit different from the usual comedy circuit. Before he was doing sets, he was a professional tennis player, and that athletic background still plays into his work. He hosts the podcast Tennis Anyone, contributes to the Tennis Channel, and wrote the memoir Lucky Loser, which tracks his move from the court to comedy. That tennis thread runs through a lot of what he does, and it's a good place to start if you're trying to get a sense of his perspective.
Beyond The Daily Show, he's appeared in Tracy Morgan's NBC series The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins and has done late-night spots on The Tonight Show, Conan, Seth Meyers, and @midnight. His one-hour Comedy Central special, Michael Kosta: Detroit. NY. LA., is streaming on Paramount+ and YouTube, so if you want to see his style before the show, that's the best place to look.
