Sketch comedy show with Greg Baker, Nina Diatta and others that mixes horror parodies and ghoulish humour, with costumes encouraged.
Maxxeapolis returns to Bryant Lake Bowl on the spookiest weekend of the year with Monster Jam, a sketch comedy show running Friday, Oct 30, Saturday, Oct 31, and Sunday, Nov 1. It's a horror-themed revue that mixes horror parodies and ghoulish humor with a sketch about therapy, leaning on the tagline that healing can be scary too. The show runs 60 to 75 minutes with a ten-minute intermission, and the producers bill it as something that will make you scream, laugh, and question why your Halloweekend plans didn't involve live comedy in the first place.
There's a full ensemble on the bill: Greg Baker, Nina Diatta, Laura Hild, Caroline Kraft, Linc Owens, Anika Reitman, Alex Stokes, and Nate Weingarden. With eight performers sharing the stage, it's a proper sketch cast rather than a few stand-ups taking turns. Costumes are encouraged, and plus ones are allowed, so you can bring a friend and show up in character.
Keep in mind it's recommended for ages 18 and up, which the organizers attribute to the language, on-stage debauchery, and general absurdity. If you're planning to eat or drink, the venue has full restaurant and bar service, and you can order from your seat.
