Minneapolis five-piece Maria and the Coins play their sixth annual holiday show with original songs and Christmas classics, opening set by Laura Hugo.
Maria and the Coins bring their 6th annual holiday show to Icehouse on Thursday, December 17, with an opening set by Laura Hugo. The set mixes original music with holiday classics, and it's the sixth year they've put this particular show together.
For those who haven't caught them yet, Maria and the Coins are a Minneapolis five-piece whose sound pairs powerhouse vocals and lyrical integrity with a production style that leans on the early 2000s. They draw from records by Hilary Duff, Kelly Clarkson, Green Day and Coldplay, and they've been pushing those Y2K influences into 2026. Over the last decade they've released a mix of pop anthems, soulful ballads and driving rockers, and have opened for Christina Perri, Jukebox the Ghost, Papa Roach, Betty Who, JP Saxe and Haley Reinhart.
They're coming off their latest EP, Hell of a Ride, and a US tour. Their mental health anthem "Something Good" is set to be featured in the independent film interiorem pueri, and their debut album Forward (2020) left "Movin' On" with over half a million streams. The lineup is Maria Coyne on vocals, Zaq Baker on keyboard, Adam Maurer on bass, Conor Lee on guitar and Sheldon Way on drums.
