Concert celebrating the new album 'We Are All Travelers Here' from Minneapolis singer-songwriter Jaspar Lepak, with the full studio band.
Jaspar Lepak is playing the Icehouse on Friday, November 13, to celebrate her new album, We Are All Travelers Here. The record comes out on November 6, so the show is just a week later. It's not a typical setβshe'll play the whole album across two sets, with stories about making it in between. If you've been following her, you know the songs usually take center stage; this one gives you the context too.
She's bringing the full studio band for the night: Ben Cook-Feltz on piano, percussion, and harmonies; Andy Schuster on bass; DGS on violin; and Haley E. Rydell on harmonies. Peter Remiger joins them on electric guitar. It's the same group that played on the record, so the live versions should sound a lot like the ones you'll hear on the album.
Lepak is a Minneapolis singer-songwriter, though she's originally from Tucson. She studied classical piano and literature here in the Twin Cities before she picked up the guitar and started writing songs. Her 2021 album Desert Ghosts reached the Top 10 on the Folk Radio Chart, and 2024's So Strong debuted at number six. Her songs have been featured by the Yale School of Medicine, Democracy Now!, and Christine Lavin's The Seasons Project. She also recorded "Forgiving Wind" in Durban, South Africa, which earned praise from Rolling Stone South Africa. 89.3 The Current has described her music as "comforting and charmingly unpretentious."
