Double release show with Gill Weather and Eldest Daughter, joined by special guest Meghan Kreidler.
Gill Weather and Eldest Daughter share a bill at The Cedar Cultural Center on Thursday, November 12, with Meghan Kreidler joining them as a special guest. It's a double release show, so both acts are celebrating new material: Gill Weather is marking the release of their debut album, Unreliable Narrator, and Eldest Daughter is celebrating their lead single, "In My Hand."
Gill Weather, formerly Oceanographer and fronted by Valentine Lowry-Ortega, plays a "midwest gothic" brand of folk steeped in 90s dream pop and small-town storytelling. The project earned a 2025 Loring Award nomination for Best Upcoming Artist and a 2026 Cedar Commission, and Unreliable Narrator is the debut album that comes out of that work. Eldest Daughter is a Twin Cities indie rock four-piece led by Monica Merila, drawing on 90s confessional rock. The name is a nod to the person who holds it all together. "In My Hand" is the lead single from The Year of the Swan, their first studio EP, which is due in January 2027.
Meghan Kreidler, best known as the lead singer of the Twin Cities rock band Kiss the Tiger, performs here as a solo project. Her songs explore life and death, loss and renewal, grief and joy. Between the three of them, the night pulls from folk, indie rock, and solo work, with the new album and new single sitting at the center.
