Derrick Stroup brings his Running Hot Tour to the Pantages Theatre on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 7 PM. The Minneapolis date is presented by Outback Presents.
Stroup is an Alabama native who describes himself as a Waffle House enthusiast, and that Southern background figures into his act. His stage style has been compared to a mix of Lewis Black and Ron White—angry rant comedy blended with the charm of Southern storytelling. It's a combination that puts the high-energy, loud-and-fast side of stand-up right next to the slower, more conversational side.
He's been working the club circuit for years. He moved to Denver in 2015 and became a regular headliner at Comedy Works, and since then he's headlined clubs across the country and toured with Bert Kreischer, Larry the Cable Guy, John Crist and Josh Blue. In 2019, he won one of the country's biggest comedy competitions, and in 2023 he was selected as a Just For Laughs New Face.
