Blues-rock concert by Davy Knowles, guitarist of Back Door Slam and producer of Peter Frampton, at The Hook and Ladder Theater.
Davy Knowles plays The Hook and Ladder Theater on Sunday, November 8, with his full band. He's a Manx-born blues-rock guitarist and songwriter whose playing covers a lot of ground—acoustic and mandolin, national steel and electric guitar. He first made a name for himself in 2007 with his band Back Door Slam and the album Roll Away, and his second release, Coming Up For Air, was produced by Peter Frampton.
Since then, he's shared the stage with Jeff Beck, The Who, Joe Bonamassa, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Thorogood, Brian Setzer and Chickenfoot. Joe Satriani called him "my favorite modern Bluesman." In 2010, he became the first musician to perform live to the International Space Station, broadcasting directly from Mission Control in Houston. In November 2025, his native Isle of Man named him "Global Ambassador."
His recent discography gives you a sense of where he's been lately: The Invisible Man came out in 2024, MKO followed in 2025, and in 2023 he put out the folk album If I Should Wander. On November 8, he'll be performing with his band at the theater on Minnehaha Avenue.
