Comedian and author David Nihill brings his new show 'Taking Tangents', drawing on his travels and life as an immigrant, to The Parkway Theater.
David Nihill brings his new show, Taking Tangents, to The Parkway Theater on Sunday, February 28, 2027. It's a night of stand-up that Nihill bills as real Irish comedy, accent included, and it marks his return to the stage after a sold-out world tour.
If you're not familiar with him, Nihill is a Dublin-born comedian and author who left home at 22 and has since lived and worked in twelve countries, visiting more than eighty. Much of his material comes from that life on the moveβhis travels, his attempts at other languages, and his experiences as a mildly confused immigrant. He's a festival favorite whose videos have racked up over a billion views, and he's appeared on TED.com, Sirius XM, Just For Laughs, the Netflix is a Joke Festival, RTE's Late Late Show, and NPR.
He's also got a history of doing well in competitions: he won the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, a contest that produced finalists like Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, and Dana Carvey, and finished as runner-up in the Moth's US GrandSLAM storytelling competition. On the recording side, he put out his debut special Documented for Dry Bar Comedy in 2019, followed by Cultural Appreciation in 2022 and the award-winning Shelf Help in 2025.
