Celebrity chef Duff Goldman brings his first live theater tour, a night of stand-up, storytelling and baking demonstrations.
Duff Goldman brings his first live theater tour to The Parkway Theater on Tuesday, November 10. He's calling it The Tao of Duff, and it's a bit of a departure from what you'd expect from a guy known for cakes. Instead of a kitchen, he's taking the stage for a night that blends stand-up, storytelling, and the science of baking.
If you know Goldman, you know him as the celebrity chef, TV personality, and New York Times best-selling author. He first made a name for himself on Food Network's Ace of Cakes with Charm City Cakes, and these days you'll find him mentoring on Baking Championship: Next Gen and judging Holiday Baking Championship. He also wrote Super Good Baking for Kids, a best-seller that puts baking in reach for younger cooks. Earlier this year, he opened his first restaurant, Duff's Deli + Market, at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
On stage, he's trading the bakery for the spotlight. The show wanders through his life, from his great-grandmother's history to his time in fast-food and fine-dining kitchens, and then on to metal bands and the Food Network. He'll be stretching paper-thin phyllo and telling stories about the decades he spent making cakes for presidents, rock stars, and royalty. There are baking demonstrations mixed in, too, so you'll see the actual work alongside the stories. It's one of 11 cities he's playing this fall.
