David Cook

David Cook plays The Hook and Ladder on Wednesday, December 9, 2026. He's the only name on the bill, so it's a full night of his music.

Most people know him from winning American Idol Season 7, and the numbers from that run were something else: 14 of his songs debuted on the Hot Digital Songs chart and 11 on the Hot 100. His first album, Analog Heart, actually came out before Idol, and since then he's sold more than 2 million albums, including a platinum-certified self-titled record, and over 5 million tracks worldwide.

After the Idol years, he moved to Nashville and kept working as a songwriter and performer. He released the EP Chromance in 2018 and made his Broadway debut as Charlie Price in Kinky Boots. He also returned to the American Idol stage in April 2022 for the show's 20th-anniversary reunion.

Beyond the music, he's an advocate for the National Brain Tumor Society, having lost his brother Adam to a brain tumor in 2009. Through the Race for Hope-DC, he and his fans have raised more than $1.5 million for brain cancer and brain tumor research.
