Screening of the Marvel film 'Avengers: Doomsday' at the Riverview Theater, with shows on December 17 and 18.
Avengers: Doomsday is coming to the Riverview Theater on Thursday, December 17 and Friday, December 18, with screenings at 6:30 PM both nights. It's a two-night run, so you've got a couple of options if you're trying to fit it in around the holidays.
The cast is a big part of the draw here. Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU, and he's joined by Pedro Pascal and Chris Hemsworth. The story frames the Avengers as heroes from three different worlds thrust together to confront a catastrophic danger, with old allies, new heroes, and unexpected faces joining the fight against a powerful new enemy. It's a long one, tooβthe screening runs 165 minutes, so you're looking at nearly three hours in the seat.
If you haven't been in a while, the Riverview is one of those classic Minneapolis spots that does two things at once. Inside the house, it's state-of-the-art digital projection and sound; in the lobby, it's a 1950s-style atmosphere with mod couches and chairs. The theater bills it as stepping back to the era when neighborhood cinemas were on every corner, and that's a good description of the vibe. It's a nice place to settle in for a movie this long.
